Warm hospitality in the world of tea: Arranging kettles according to the season

In the world of tea, there are many ways to entertain guests, including considering their comfort by changing the placement of the kettle according to the season.

During the cold season from November to April, we hang the kettle on the hearth close to the guests so they can stay warm. Then, when the weather gets warmer in March and April, we remove the trivet from inside the hearth so that guests can enjoy the spring scenery.

On the other hand, from May to October when it gets hot, we move the kettle to the furo and set it up a little further away, but since it is still chilly in May, we use a beveled furo that allows customers to see the fire so they can feel the warmth. Also, in October when it starts to get cooler, we move the furo closer to customers to provide them with more warmth.

Adjusting the position of the kettle to reflect the season in this way shows the host's consideration for the guest's experience. A tea experience that is carefully thought out will be memorable with every visit. True hospitality in tea culture goes beyond serving tea to creating an environment where guests can feel comfortable.
